Traveling To The Last Days To Protect You

Chapter 13

After a while, the old lady Xu said in surprise:

"You, you just..."

"Oh, it's a supernatural ability. Some people became monsters, while some people got abilities. I'm the latter."

Lin Tantan gave a brief explanation. This family took her in; helping them was just a little effort on her part.

Old lady Xu murmured: "So I saw it correctly just now, you really came here by throwing two green ropes."

Lin Tantan had wondered whether these people were not surprised by her supernatural ability; it turned out that the old lady thought she had been dazzled and saw wrong.

"Then, will my husband's illness be healed?" Mrs. Xu asked again.

"It's just a temporary relief. If you want to get better, you need to get treatment for a period of time." Lin Tantan said.

In the past, she had treated many patients with chronic illnesses; and basically, after going to her a few times more, taking one or two courses of treatment, the patients would be alive and kicking. Of course, her fees were also high. At present, her ability was quite low, so old ailments like Chronic Bronchitis would take a few months to cure.

"Sister, can you teach me? Then I will be able to treat grandpa." The granddaughter of the Xu family said crisply.

Lin Tantan saw that the child was fair and polite, and liked her very much, saying:

"I can't teach you, and whether you can get supernatural abilities is not up to me, God has the final say."

Everyone started asking Lin Tantan about supernatural abilities. She naturally couldn't act like she knew everything; thus most of her answers were 'don't know'.

After a full meal, Lin Tantan went back to the room to absorb the gold-based crystal nucleus, and threw a golden thorn, which was like a nail driven into the wall. Lin Tantan got out of bed and came to the wall, gently touched it with her hand, and the golden thorn turned into mist as it returned to her body. She carefully observed the small hole in the wall and estimated that it was about two centimetres; feeling relieved.

Tomorrow, she would have to fight her way to her destination.

It was a pity that there were no more crystal nuclei; she had to find a way to get some.

She closed her eyes, trying to ignore the noise made by the zombies outside, and forced herself to fall asleep.

………….

Some people choose to recharge their batteries at night, while others choose to act in the dark.

Ye Xiao's team was obviously the latter. Because through the controlled monitoring in the city, they found that the number of zombies was increasing every moment. Every minute of delay, the difficulty of their rescue would increase.

Since they had already invaded the monitoring system, it was like they had countless eyes in the city, which was also very convenient for their actions.

The time came two hours ago.

Their first target was the two scientists, not only because they were the most important, but also because their laboratory was near the suburbs and was the closest to their team.

It was a new type of office building, only six stories high, and had an oval ring structure as a whole. No matter the shape or the building materials, it was very technological and strong. There were many large and small rooms on each floor.

Next to this office building, was a commercial building which was also newly built, and was magnificent enough. Not far from these two buildings, there was lots of real estate, some of which had already been built for occupancy, with a few lights at night, while the others were under construction. The land farther away was mostly bare land and low residential areas.

At this moment, the sky was about to get dark. Ye Xiao saw the scene with a telescope and squinted his eyes slightly as if he was thinking about something. He also kept a watch on his surroundings; whenever he saw a zombie approaching, he would raise his gun and kill it.

Meanwhile, in the abandoned factory building behind him, a tall guy, along with a slender man having somewhat feminine features, was tinkering with packages of something, as if they were planting a bomb.

"It's done." The two came out.

"Let's go."

The group of three retreated quietly. Not long after, loud voices suddenly came from the factory building, including the sound of cars and noisy human voices, as if there was a train station in that factory.

The sound was transmitted layer by layer through several speakers. The zombies who became agitated because the sky was about to get dark were attracted by the sound, and went to the source of the sound. Many zombies also came out of the office building full of technology. .

The three men went all the way back to the third floor of a half-built building. There was only a rough wall here, with red bricks and cement everywhere, and a pile of debris on the ground. The advantage was that the whole floor could be seen through at a glance, so there was no need to worry about zombies hiding in the corner.

The other five people were already here. Bai Cheng was sitting with a person holding a notebook and typing. Seeing them come back, Bai Cheng raised his head and said:

"All the zombies that could leave the building have already come out, but there are still a lot left inside, I will tell you the location later. Professor Zheng and Professor Wu are now in the underground laboratory, there are many zombies around the entrance as well as in their laboratory, you should hurry up."

Ye Xiao nodded: "Xiaotian, Meimei, Xu Li, are you ready?"

He called the names directly. Xiaotian was the person who kept typing on the notebook, named Jiang Xiaotian, a young man with a very ordinary face, which would never be found in a crowd. This person was a master hacker, and was the reason they could do as they pleased in the city; since he had already hacked the surveillance in Yangshi.

He closed the notebook in his hand, and stood up: "Okay, you can go."

Meimei was the bad-tempered one, his full name was Mei Bosheng, but he did not like his literary and awkward name; thus he gave himself such a nickname. He patted the gun in his hand and said with a grin,

"I've been ready for a long time."

Xu Li was a young man who looked very shy, had a soft appearance, and a soft personality. He looked no stronger than Cheng Qinan who had joined the team halfway, but he was the second most lethal person in this small team after Ye Xiao. He was different from the others. Although he also had a gun, he tucked it in his belt instead of holding it. He held a simple long sword with a scabbard.

Ye Xiao looked at the tall and strong man who came back with him just now:

"Da Zhong, I'll leave this to you."

Da Zhong was the most rugged-looking in the team, an authentic Northeast guy, who usually appeared very silent and honest. He had a good temper but was very tough in battle; his full name was Zhong Xiong, and he lived up to his name.

(His name means something along the line of 'a mighty or powerful person')

Mei Bosheng, Xu Li, Zhong Xiong, and Ye Xiao were the main firepower of the eight-member team. The others could not be said to be weak, but they were not very good at fighting. If Ye Xiao were to take two of them with him, he would naturally leave one behind, otherwise he would not be at ease.

Zhong Xiong said with a naive smile: "Boss, don't worry."

Bai Cheng also said: "Don't worry about us, be careful yourself."

Ye Xiao nodded, and led the three of them towards the office building.

It was already dark, and there were only a few automatic sensor lights in the office building; thus all four of them wore night vision goggles, and with the constant reminders from Bai Cheng in the earphones, they quickly killed all the zombies along the way as they advanced.

In fact, there was often no need for other people to take action. Ye Xiao would just wave his hand, and with a gust of wind, the zombie would fall down.

Mei Bosheng was envious, and quietly said to Jiang Xiaotian beside him: "This superpower is really useful, when can we have this kind of ability?"

Jiang Xiaotian was also full of fantasies:

"Can I get a super powerful processor through some superpower?"

Anyway, he didn't like to fight and kill, so he just wanted a super computer.

Mei Bosheng rolled his eyes. He shouldn't have expected this guy to talk normally, so he asked Xu Li behind him:

"Xu Li..."

Before he could complete his sentence, through the night vision goggles, he saw Xu Li killing a zombie that had suddenly appeared with a sharp sword, like a swordsman in ancient times. When it was over, he turned around and asked softly with a silly expression on his face,

"Called me?"

Mei Bosheng rolled his eyes again, this guy himself looked like someone with superpowers.

Ye Xiao suddenly said: "Concentrate!"

They had reached the entrance of the underground research room, and there were many zombies here. Ye Xiao and Xu Li went up together, the distance was too close, and it was not suitable for shooting with a gun. With a wind blade from Ye Xiao and a swing of the sword by Xu Li, all the zombies were resolved in a few minutes. Mei Bosheng pulled Jiang Xiaotian to hide.

After all the zombies were killed, Jiang Xiaotian came on stage. He took out a device from his bag, connected it with the electronic door at the entrance, and fiddled with his notebook for a while. Within two minutes, the door opened with a beep.

Chapter 1 "Go! Leave me alone!" Among the zombies, a tall and handsome man yelled at a helicopter while fighting the zombies, but the helicopter refused to leave, and the people on board also shouted at him: "Let's go together, come up!"  The man suddenly waved his hand, and a wind dragon headed towards the helicopter accurately, the huge force directly pushing away the helicopter that was reluctant to leave. Seeing that the helicopter was getting farther and farther away, the man turned his head and looked at the hordes of zombies in all directions. He smiled, his face was solemn and determined, and he seemed relieved. He closed his eyes and let out a loud groan. The next moment, looking down from the sky, an invisible huge wave centred on the man and gradually spread out in all directions. All the zombies, including the remnants of the buildings, were instantly reduced to powder, and the entire area was wiped out. The self-destruction of a ninth-level wind-typ

Chapter 10 Bai Cheng said softly: "First of all, I still believe that this order is unreasonable, but since it has been issued by Major General Min himself, no matter how unreasonable, we have to follow it." Several pairs of eyes stared at Bai Cheng as he continued unhurriedly: "Secondly, our team is of a special nature and has never had any contact with those military units. Without the approval of the higher authorities, it is not suitable for us to go anywhere." This was the reason for their current embarrassment. " Thirdly, our biggest problem is that we don't know much about the current situation; and we don't know anything at all about the situation in the central government. So my suggestion is, let's enter Yang City and do the task accordingly, but play it by ear*. "  The "play it by ear" comment made several people laugh. It was good to play by ear. Although obeying orders was the bounden duty of soldiers, they were not fools

Traveling To The Last Days To Protect You

Chapter 2 Since the apocalyptic catastrophe more than 300 years ago, the human body became fundamentally transformed. Now people with supernatural powers accounted for one-fifth of the total population. For these people, supernatural powers were the basis of their survival.  As soon as a child was born, the hospital would test his abilities. The first step was to separate ordinary people from those with abilities. For the latter, they would further detect the energy core attributes in the mind.  When the apocalypse first occured, there were many kinds of supernatural powers, but as the time went by, the energy of those rare abilities was either exhausted or converted into other energies. In the end, the world stabilized and formed a complete cycle. The basic kinds of energy were the five elements of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. Lin Tantan did not understand the gossip about the heaven, earth, nature and five elements. She only knew that if the child was tested to have only one
